MIFC Hires New Director of Soccer

MIFC is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Bayly as our club's new Director of Soccer.

Bayly joins us from Washington Youth Soccer (WYS) where he has served as the Regional Club League Commissioner for the past three years and is also a national US Soccer education director, Director of Coaching and Education at WYS.

Bayly brings a wealth of skill and knowledge to MIFC, along with more than 20 years of experience in all areas of the sport. He has worked extensively in club and college soccer at various levels, including Director of Coach and Player Development at Greater Seattle Surf, Director of Coaching positions at Northwest National and Peninsula Youth Soccer Club in Foster City, CA, and the Men's Assistant Coach at San Francisco State University.

Bayly has served on coaching and administrative staffs for US Youth Soccer's Youth Development Program, the Gaelic Athletic Association Games (GAA) and coached the USA Gaelic Football teams to U16 and U18 international titles.

As a player, Bayly represented Drogheda United in the League of Ireland, St. Feckin's GAA Club, Ulster GAA Club San Francisco and the USA Gaelic Football team, which won the Gaelic Football World Cup in 2002.

"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to lead Mercer Island FC," says Bayly. "This is a club that has a long history in Washington Youth Soccer, full of dedicated people on all levels of the organization and people who want to see coaches and players develop and achieve their goals."

MIFC is pleased for the opportunity to add someone of Bayly’s stature, experience and character to the leadership of our club. Board of Directors President, Greg Snyder believes the club will be the beneficiary of Bayly’s time with Washington Youth Soccer, his familiarity with the youth soccer landscape and expertise in player and coach development. “We look forward to the relationship and what the future holds for our MIFC soccer community.”
