Referee Training Information
As every year, we will need a lot of referees for our MIFC and EYSA games, and we're training teenagers (13+) and adults in our community to become a referee this summer.
Please join us! Referees get paid $20-$45 per youth games, and that's a fantastic first job for teenagers (flexible too, you pick your games).
Our EYSA association also pays a $100+ bonus for referees doing 10+ games with us ($10 extra per game, so teenagers can make $30 for <1h, and pile a few of those on every week-end in the Fall!)
Anyone 13+ years old can become a referee, by registering with www.wareferees.org, completing a set of online lessons teaching the “Laws of the Game” (~3-4 hours) and attending an in-person referee clinic (4 hours, list included below).
EYSA is sponsoring 1 of these clinics in our neighborhoods:
- July 30 at Tillicum Middle School in East Bellevue (1-5pm)
There are other in-person clinics in Woodinville (Aug 7) or Monroe (Aug 20), and others available clinics can be found on on: https://www.wareferees.org/availableclinics.aspx
*And as if this wasn't a great deal already, EYSA will also reimburse the FULL cost of training and certification (~$85) for the first 10 players or family members of an EYSA club who sign-up for this promotion, and then complete at least 5 games for us...
After becoming a certified referee with the state, you can register with eysareferees.org to join our pool of referees for our EYSA games.
Join us, or talk to your teenager about this!
