Recreational soccer starts at U-8 and follows US Soccer Federation small-sided guidelines in a 4v4 format with no goal keepers. Over the next several years (U9-U12) players are gradually introduced to more field players, goalkeepers and larger fields. Starting at U13, they play 11v11 and adhere to all of the Laws of the Game. As the players physically mature, the size of the ball and the length of the match will increase until they are playing with a full-size, #5 ball and playing 45 minute halves.
